Mini healing salves – coming to a handbag (or manbag) near you soon!
“Heal-a-lot? Bruise-ease? Itch-not?” – in naming my new salve range you may well think I’ve lost my marbles, I did a double-take myself. The mini-salve kit is intended as a quick helper for those common everyday knocks and irritations, something you might pull out of your hand bag or desk drawer. And so I wanted it to bring a smile to your face at the same time.
The names may be lightweight, but the salve remedies use timeworm herbal ingredients to help soothe the skin. All three salves use a base of (organic) beeswax with safflower, olive and jojoba oil. A lot of salves just use one base oil, but I wanted to enhance the effect of the salves by blending different oils together: safflower for its high omega 3 and 6 content; olive for its natural vitamin content and gradual absorption into the skin; and jojoba oil to soften and protect the skin.
I find many salves on the market to be too hard to comfortably use – the last thing I want if my skin is already unhappy is to have to make it work hard to get the salve on. As a result I’ve made these salves a bit softer so that they can be used with greater comfort and ease.
Each salve then has a unique blend of herbal ingredients:
Heal-a-lot contains Hypericum and Calendula classically used to help promote healing, and lavender for its soothing properties and delicate scent.
Bruise-ease contains arnica, well known as a herbal remedy for bruises, bumps and bangs. It also has geranium for its nurturing qualities and lovely aroma.
Itch-not contains chickweed and chamomile, both commonly used for conditions such as eczema and skin irritation or inflamation.
I don’t know about you but I always carry around a few first aid “bits and pieces” in my hand bag, and I’m looking forward to adding the mini salves to this collection. I hope that they will bring you as much enjoyment as I have had in formulating them, as well as benefit. I’ll be releasing the mini salve kit in time for Christmas, and think it will make a lovely stocking fillier!
Update: Amiya mini healing salves are now available to buy in our online store. Our salves are part of our wider natural skin care range.

Hi Elizabeth and Congratulations on a lovely clear and easy to use site!
I like the bottles and labels (which ones are you using?)
I am sure that once word gets around they will be flying off your shelves!
Love and Good Luck Marion
